Phillips 66 15th Annual WALK OF HONOR for Our Veterans

Join Phillips 66 in the 15th Annual Walk of Honor on May 18, 2024, at the Crockett Community Center to honor local Veterans at a community event to celebrate military Veterans for their service on Armed Forces Day.

In late 2007, employees at Phillips 66 wanted to host a local event to recognize the service, commitment, and sacrifice of military Veterans.  After putting their heads together and reaching out to local nonprofits, an initial meeting was held in February of 2008 with the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley (VNVDV) Board of Directors.

Together, the two groups organized a community walk, called the Walk of Honor. The first few Walks were planned around Veterans Day with proceeds supporting the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley (VNVDV) organization for funding various programs and projects in support of Veterans.

John Garfield Rees - VNVDV Public Relations Director, & former VFW Ship’s Captain – Crockett Veterans Memorial Building, “The Walk of Honor continues because of the dedication of Phillips 66 and employees of the Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex. The Walk of Honor means the world to the VNVDV and the Veterans we serve. We are grateful for this funding and would not be able to conduct the annual programs and projects without their support.”

Phillips 66 Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex, Public Relations Director Aimee Henry, “On behalf of the employees of the Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex we invite you to join us in honoring and celebrating our military Veterans and active service members.”

Last year’s event was a huge success, raising $36,000 in support of Veterans. Over the past fourteen years, more than $511,000 has been raised and donated. To register and/or become a sponsor visit www.sfrwalkofhonor.com for more information.
